Using the Race Day Page

Overview

The Race Day page is designed for athletes and crew to manage and update their race plan in real time during the event. It provides a live, editable version of your exported race plan, optimized for mobile and outdoor use, while preserving your original plan as a locked baseline.


How to Activate Race Day

  1. Create or load a race plan in RaceCraft.
  2. Click the "Export to Race Day" button within your plan.
  3. A new Race Day page is generated as a duplicate of your current plan.
  4. Access the Race Day page anytime from the main side navigation.

Race Day Page Features

  • Mobile-first layout: Designed for easy one-handed use and high visibility outdoors.
  • Editable checkpoint times: Tap arrival or departure times to update them as you progress.
  • Live recalculation: All timing, cumulative time, and finish ETA update instantly after edits.
  • Checkpoint cards: Each checkpoint is shown as a card with all relevant details.
  • Persistent navigation: Race Day is always available in the side-nav for quick access.
  • Crew-friendly: Allows crew to update times and monitor progress.

Editing Arrival and Departure Times

  • Tap the arrival or departure time on any checkpoint card.
  • Enter the actual time using the mobile-optimized input.
  • The app will automatically recalculate:
    • Time spent at the checkpoint
    • Updated cumulative race time
    • New estimated finish time
  • All downstream checkpoints update dynamically.

Empty State

If no Race Day plan has been exported yet: - The Race Day page will show a message: "No Race Day plan created yet. Generate and export a race plan to activate Race Day." - Click the call-to-action button to return to plan creation/export.


Key Tips

  • Original plan is preserved: Edits in Race Day do not affect your baseline plan.
  • Responsive design: Works on phones, tablets, and desktops.
  • Fast editing: Large tap targets and minimal clutter for quick updates.
  • Crew access: Share your device or login for crew to update times.

Troubleshooting

  • If you can't see the Race Day page, ensure you've exported a plan.
  • For best results, use Race Day on a mobile device during the event.
  • If you need to revert, reload your original plan from the main planner.
